Overview
The Fireye MEP304 is a microprocessor-based programmer module designed for use with the Fireye Modular MicroM series flame safeguard control system. It provides automatic ignition and continuous flame monitoring for commercial heating and industrial process equipment. Utilizing microcontroller technology, this plug-in module ensures precise timing functions without dependence on discrete components, and it includes smart diagnostic LEDs to assist with system troubleshooting. It must be used in conjunction with MEC320 or MEC480 series chassis.
Features
- Plug-in design for simplified installation and replacement within the control chassis.
- Microcontroller technology for accurate and reliable timing of burner sequences.
- Integrated smart diagnostic LEDs for clear status and fault indication.
- Enhanced control functions including early spark termination and pilot proving.
- Supports optional alpha-numeric display (ED510) and Modbus serial communications for remote monitoring.
- Safety checking circuit operative on each start to prevent operation if a flame is detected prematurely.

Applications
The MEP304 programmer is used in commercial and industrial combustion systems to manage the startup and monitoring of burners. It is suitable for a variety of sectors including oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, and pulp and paper. It is specifically engineered for applications requiring a non-recycle sequence, where any flame failure after the start of the cycle must result in a safety lockout requiring a manual reset to ensure system safety.
