Overview
The Fireye 95DSS2-1CEX InSight I is a microprocessor-based, integrated flame scanner designed for industrial burner management. This enhanced model utilizes solid-state dual sensors—both infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV)—to detect the presence or absence of a target flame. By incorporating an internal flame relay with adjustable thresholds, it eliminates the need for a remote flame amplifier. The 1CEX variant is specifically engineered for hazardous environments, featuring an EExd IIC T6 explosion-proof housing that is CE and ATEX approved.
Features
- Dual sensor technology combining IR and UV detectors for versatile monitoring of multiple fuel types
- Integrated design with an internal flame relay and 4-20 mA analog output, reducing installation complexity
- Electronic self-checking system that functions without the need for a mechanical shutter
- User-friendly interface featuring an eight-character alphanumeric LED display and a four-button keypad for local configuration
- AutoTune function for automatic selection of optimal flame flicker frequency and gain settings
- Multiple memory files (up to four) to store unique setpoints for different fuels or firing rates
- Remote communication capabilities via RS485 interface for centralized monitoring and adjustment

Applications
The 95DSS2-1CEX is ideal for complex multi-burner environments and single-burner applications where high discrimination between target and background flames is required. Its dual sensors make it suitable for monitoring flames from a wide variety of fuels, including natural gas, propane, coal, and various fuel oils (LDO, HFO, No. 2 oil). It is frequently used in coal-fired power stations, hazardous waste incinerators, municipal solid waste plants, and chemical processing facilities such as ammonia or gypsum plants.
