The Fireye 45UV5-1000 is a high-performance, self-checking ultraviolet (UV) flame scanner designed for dependable flame detection in demanding industrial combustion environments. This unit detects the presence or absence of flames that emit UV radiation, making it ideal for monitoring fossil fuels such as natural gas, propane, and diesel. Its self-checking design features an integrated electromagnetic shutter that continuously validates the integrity of the scanner and signal circuits every few seconds, ensuring safe and uninterrupted boiler or burner operation.

Applications
The 45UV5-1000 is used with Fireye 25SU3 and 25SU5 flame amplifiers, as well as BurnerLogix, Flame-Monitor, MicroM, and D-Series controls. It is specifically engineered for continuous-duty industrial combustion systems, including electric utility boilers, power boilers, process ovens, and large furnaces. It is best suited for flames from natural gas, coke oven gas, propane, methane, butane, kerosene, and light petroleum distillates. For burners using steam-atomized oil or pulverized coal, infrared scanners are recommended instead.
