Overview
The Johnson Controls VA7810-HGA-2 is a non-spring return electric valve actuator designed to provide direct-coupled, modulating control of globe valves within heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. It delivers a minimum linear output force of 180 lb (800 N) to operate Johnson Controls VG7000 Series bronze globe valves, offering fail-in-place operation upon loss of power.
Features
- Direct mount capability to VG7000 Series bronze globe valves with a linear stroke of up to 1 inch.
- Brushless motor ensures low energy consumption and an extended operational life.
- Automatic stroke adjustment for simplified, precise commissioning and servicing.
- Standard manual override via a 5 mm Allen wrench allows positioning in the absence of power.
- Force-controlled motor shut-off protects the valve from excessive forces and minimizes wear.
- Built-in status LED provides visual feedback on actuator status and aids diagnostics.
Specifications
- Supply Voltage: 24 VAC
- Control Signal: Modulating/Proportional (0 to 10 VDC, 2 to 10 VDC, 0 to 20 mA, or 4 to 20 mA), Floating, and Two-Position
- Output Force: 180 lb-in (800 N) minimum
- Enclosure Rating: IP54 protection
- Stroke Range: 5/16 inch to 1 inch linear stroke

Applications
The VA7810-HGA-2 actuator is used in HVAC systems to regulate the flow of saturated steam, hot water, and chilled water. It is designed to interface directly with threaded-stem VG7000 Series bronze globe valves ranging from 1/2 to 2 inches, responding to electronic controllers for valve sequencing, proportional modulation, or simple floating point adjustments.
