Overview
The Johnson Controls V46AD-13C is a 1-inch, pressure-actuated, modulating water-regulating valve designed for commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems. It controls the quantity of water or glycol flow to a water-cooled condenser by directly sensing pressure changes in a refrigerant circuit. As a direct-acting valve, it opens on a pressure increase to help maintain optimum refrigerant head pressure. It features a rugged cast iron body with a rust-resisting finish and a pressure-balanced design that keeps the setpoint consistent against sudden water pressure variations.
Features
- Pressure-balanced design ensures the opening point setpoint remains independent of water inlet pressure fluctuations.
- No close-fitting or sliding parts in water passages to prevent stuck valves, chatter, or water hammer caused by contamination.
- Take-apart construction allows the valve to be disassembled and serviced inline without removing it from the piping system.
- Accessible range spring permits easy manual flushing of the valve if required.
- Robust bellows design withstands high hydraulic shock and high overpressure without damage.
- Corrosion-resistant internal components, including an aluminum bronze seat and brass disc holder, ensure a long service life.
