Overview
The Johnson Controls V-9502-15 is a high-performance pneumatic valve positioner kit designed for direct mounting on V-3000 Series pneumatic valve actuators, including V-3000-1, V-3000-8001, and V-3000-8012 models. As a precision relay device, it compensates for flow surges, stem friction, and internal fluid velocity forces to ensure accurate proportional control and precise valve positioning in demanding commercial HVACR loops. This specific kit is supplied without a feedback spring (“less spring”), allowing technicians to select the appropriate spring based on unique differential pressure and valve stroke requirements.
Features
- High Positioning Power: Overcomes high pressure drops and fluid forces to eliminate hysteresis and hold the valve at the exact position dictated by the controller.
- Precise Modulation: Relocates the actuator stroke precisely even for minimal control signal variations.
- Field Adjustability: Features an easily accessible starting point screw under the cover to tailor the response pressure.
- Reduced Air Consumption: Efficient pilot air usage of 5 scim minimizes the total load on the compressed air system.
- Rugged Construction: Built with a durable die-cast aluminum body with an iridite finish and a Noryl plastic cover for long-term mechanical room durability.

Applications
- Designed for stable and precise modulation of water or steam flow in commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
- Ideal for high-pressure drop or unstable flow systems requiring localized boost control to counteract process disturbances.
- Suitable for valve sequencing applications where multiple valves operate sequentially from a single controller signal.
