Overview
The Johnson Controls V-9000-500 is a pneumatic pilot positioner designed for the modulating control of both double-acting and spring-return actuators. It provides maximum positioning power to resist external piping forces, compensating for flow surges and precisely holding the valve at the position dictated by the controller. This unit comes standard equipped with three gauges and features a clear polycarbonate cover for a visual position indication.
Features
- Provides precise modulating control for both double-acting and spring-return pneumatic actuators.
- Features non-interactive zero and span adjustments for easier calibration.
- Field-selectable direct or reverse control action to accommodate different system requirements.
- Equipped with three integrated gauges monitoring supply, input, and output pressures.
- Includes a clear polycarbonate cover that provides an integrated visual position indicator.
Specifications
- Supply Pressure: 40 to 140 psig (276 to 965 kPa); air supply must be clean, dry, and oil-free.
- Input Signal / Operating Range: Factory set at approximately 3 to 15 psig (21 to 103 kPa) for 90-degree rotation; field selectable for 65-degree rotation, or split ranges of 3 to 9 psig and 9 to 15 psig.
- Output Flow Capacity: 2,000 scim (546 mL/s) at 60 psig (414 kPa).
- Air Consumption: 1,200 scim (328 mL/s) at 60 psig (414 kPa).
- Ambient Temperature Limits: -5 to 160°F (-21 to 71°C).
- Air Connections: 1/4 inch NPT internal supply; 1/8 inch NPT internal control input and outputs.
Applications
- Designed for direct use with the V-9000 Series rotary motion rack and pinion pneumatic actuators.
- Used as standard equipment on factory assemblies paired with Johnson Controls VF Series butterfly valves up to 20 inches in size.
- Ideal for commercial and industrial HVAC building automation systems requiring stable, accurate valve sequencing and throttling control.
