Overview
The Johnson Controls V47AE-1C is a temperature-actuated modulating water regulating valve designed to control the flow of water or glycol to maintain a desired temperature. It utilizes a cross-ambient charge and is designed to open on a temperature increase at the sensing bulb.
Features
- Pressure-balanced design ensures the setpoint remains independent of water inlet pressure variations
- Absence of close-fitting sliding parts in water passages prevents sticking or hysteresis caused by contamination
- Range spring is isolated from the cooling water to prevent sedimentation and corrosion
- Allows for easy manual flushing without altering the established valve adjustments
- Engineered to minimize chatter, water hammer, and withstand high hydraulic shock
Specifications
- Pipe Size: 1-1/4 inch NPT
- Temperature Range: 75 to 135°F (24 to 57°C)
- Bulb Type: Cross Ambient Charge
- Bulb Dimensions: 11/16 inch diameter by 16-1/4 inches length
- Capillary Length: 6 feet with nylon armor
- Standard Bypass Orifice Diameter: 0.093 inches
- Maximum Fluid Temperature: 170°F (77°C)
- Maximum Supply Water Pressure: 150 psig
Applications
- Commonly deployed on heat exchangers to regulate operating temperatures for internal combustion engines, air compressors, and hydraulic oil systems
- Utilized in condenser systems to conserve water or recover expensive fluids
- Applied in various industrial and commercial temperature control processes, including swimming pools and printing equipment paint systems
