Overview
The Fireye FX20 is a precision-engineered servo motor designed for industrial burner management and fuel-air ratio control systems. As part of the Fireye FX series, this actuator is specifically built to accurately position fuel valves and air dampers. It operates by interpreting Modbus RTU commands from an external controller, such as the Fireye Nexus NXF4000 or PPC4000, and utilizing a high-torque stepper motor to achieve the commanded position with high repeatability.
Features
- High-precision stepper motor drive for accurate positioning of valves and dampers.
- Integrated feedback potentiometer provides continuous positional data to the external control system for safety cross-checking.
- Modbus RTU communication via RS-485 allows for easy integration into custom industrial applications and PLCs.
- Rugged NEMA 4 (IP65) rated housing suitable for harsh industrial environments.
- Versatile mounting with a D-shaft design and face tappings to simplify connection to brackets and couplers.
- Flexible installation orientation allows the motor to be mounted in any position.
- Supports up to 10 servos in a point-to-point wiring configuration on a single communication port.

Applications
The Fireye FX20 is primarily used in industrial and commercial combustion systems for the precise control of fuel flow and combustion air. It is a critical component in parallel positioning systems, ensuring the optimal fuel-to-air ratio for efficient burner operation. Common applications include driving fuel butterfly valves, oil modulation valves, and air intake dampers on large-scale boilers and furnaces. Its compatibility with PLCs also makes it suitable for general industrial flow control where high-torque, networked actuators are required.
