Overview
The CSDSC-VFD3 Johnson Controls Current Switch is a self-calibrating current sensing device designed to automatically detect proof of flow for variable frequency drive (VFD) and constant volume motors on fans or pumps. It eliminates false alarms associated with varying frequencies and removes the need for traditional live calibration, facilitating safer installation when panels are de-energized.
Features
- Self-calibrating functionality automatically sets the correct threshold for VFD applications
- Split-core design allows easy installation around existing wires without disconnecting them
- Induced power from the monitored line eliminates the need for an external power supply
- Includes integrated LED indicators for easy status checking of the switch
- Features a normally open (N.O.) solid-state output
Specifications
- Monitored Amperage Range: 1 to 135 A
- Output Rating: 1.0 A at 30 VAC/VDC
- Minimum Frequency: 30 Hz at 1 A (down to 10 Hz at 2.5 A)
- Aperture Size: 0.75 in. x 0.75 in.
- Isolation Voltage: 600 VAC rms
- Operating Temperature: 5°F to 140°F (-15°C to 60°C)
Applications
- Proof of flow and status verification for VFD-driven fans and pumps
- HVAC and building automation systems status monitoring
- Fan-proofing and pump status tracking in commercial motor control centers
