Overview
The Johnson Controls CSDSC-C50100L4 is a self-calibrating, clamp-on current switch device with an integrated command relay designed to provide reliable verification of electrical equipment operation, such as fans and pumps. It uses motor Full Load Amps (FLA) to adjust the trip point, eliminating the need for live calibration and reducing installation time. Since it can be preset while the panel is de-energized, it improves safety by minimizing the need for personal protective equipment (PPE).
Features
- Self-calibrating functionality based on full load amps rather than horsepower
- Clamp-on (split-core) design for simple installation without intermediate wiring
- Integrated normally open (N.O.) command relay for starting and stopping motors
- LED indication of switch and relay status for easy troubleshooting
- Polarity-insensitive output to simplify control circuit wiring
- Low turn-on threshold extending application to sub-fractional horsepower motors
Specifications
- Sensing Range: 0.50 A to 100 A (Adjustable setpoint)
- Status Output Rating: Normally Open, 1.0 A at 30 VAC/VDC
- Relay Contact Rating: Normally Open, 10 A at 125 VAC
- Actuation Coil: 12 VDC, 30 mA
- Frequency Range: 50/60 Hz

Applications
- Verifying the run status and proof-of-operation for commercial fans, blowers, and pumps
- Monitoring electrical loads on heating coils and lighting systems
- Integrating motor status verification and direct on/off control into Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Preventing false status readings in systems where motors or components draw minor idle current
